Pillar 1. Interventional Microbiology: Designing the Global Microbiology/Virology Laboratory
“If we can re-engineer a microbial/virology lab, we can re-engineer the future”
“Global problems, microbial solutions”
Mission Statement
To design a new microbiology/virology sub-speciality laboratory that highlights ‘culture independent methods’, focusing on the rapidly emerging NCDs as ‘micro-centric ‘ with a common framework; and it integrates interventional microbiology thru use of bacteriophage, coupled with probiotics, as targeted, individualized therapy without the collateral damage of antibiotics. (See Stuart Levy, MD). The new microbiology/virology laboratory is patient centric.
- FLEXIBLE, not encumbered with traditional laboratory administrative structures. 5 Es and Global. Interventional Radiology as successful example. A laboratory revolution.
- MICROBIOME TARGETED THERAPY, recognizing the Microbiome First Medicine and Dentistry approach. Patient Centric.
- Initially, FOCUS ON ORAL HEALTH. USE OF BACTERIOPHAGE as good viruses, coupled with probiotics. “O” tolerance for ABX.
- DON’T KILL THE HOST, OUR MICROBIOME: THE NEW MATRE. PROTECT, PRESERVE, RESTORE AND REJUVINATE THE MICROBIOME.
- ‘Alliance for Prudent use of Biotics’ JT for Dr Levy.
